A Mission of Hope

How We Began
Hope Markers started with the love of a Kenyan exchange student and his family in 2007. That led us to mission trips to Nairobi where we met local leaders who were transforming young people’s lives through faith, sports, education, and love.
For Hope

BARNABAS APWACHO
Barnabas Apwacho grew up in the slums of Mathare with a talent for soccer. Having had an absent dad, Barnabas is passionate about being a father figure to young kids in the slums, mentoring them to know God, focus on education, and improve in soccer. Barnabas coaches many teams and hosts “Game on for Christ” soccer tournaments. He and Judy have three children; Dorothy, Roy and Fortune.

Linda Chittock
After raising a houseful of boys, remodeling an old farmhouse and volunteering at school and church, Linda Chittock Studio was created. Linda uses her creativity in interior design and product design. God’s creation of beauty continues to inspire Linda both in her profession and her involvement in local cultural organizations. These gifts and passions are the driving-force in all she does.

He is the National Operations Manager for Strategic Relationships for the Davey Tree Company. He has served as elder at several churches and sat on several school boards. Ed desires to aid Kenyans in their pursuit of their God-given purpose.

Candace Remington
Candace currently serves as the Kids Ministry Coordinator at her home church. Prior to that, she taught in the public school system for ten years as an elementary teacher. After traveling to Africa in college, she has longed for the opportunity to share the good news with, and lavish the love of Christ onto the children there in the same way that she has been blessed to do so here in the United States. Having the opportunity to pour into the Kenyan community is an experience she looks forward to sharing with her husband and two children.
